Thanks to Steven Furtick for this one (I'm showing gratitude for him writing what I was thinking
).
I've been thinking so much recently about gratitude. When I read this post I just had to share it. I challenge you to show your gratitude and make your Thanksgiving about more than turkey. Here it is in a nutshell:
- Pick someone in your life who has blessed you whether they know it or not (the first person who comes to mind is probably the right one).
- Send a letter, a card or an email telling them thanks.
- Be specific in what exactly you're thankful for. As Furtick says, "specificity is more meaningful than profundity. You don’t have to write outstanding prose. But if you chronicle in detail some ways they’ve blessed your life, they’ll savor every word".
- If possible do it now. (or at least before the sun goes down
)
Go and show those that have made a difference in you that you haven't forgotten them. You know, faith is about action - without action it becomes useless words. Let's add this value to our lives today, while your heart is pointed this way, in the same way that we are apply God's teaching to our lives.
