Discomfort

"What is that thing that GOD called me to when He called me to ministry?"

That is the way that the Drive 09 Conference began for me. A challenging question spoken by Andy Stanley, the man who (at least currently) speaks most deeply into who I am as a leader.

What IS that thing? Do I even remember...

While at the conference I was taught/reminded about:

• How to lead in uncertain times (and how important clear, flexible leadership is in moments like we currently find ourselves).
• How to create systems that help me hear from the most people possible (as well as the brightest, most creative)
• Making vision stick (especially the fact that "big" isn't transferable)

I learned about next steps, kidz ministry, singles, you name it... but in the end it comes back to that opening question:

"What is that thing that GOD called me to when He called me to ministry?". I've remembered and in some ways I'm not comfortable where it leads me.
